Amy Heffernan

Physiotherapist

Amy is Physiotherapy Resident who recently graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017.
Prior to becoming a Physiotherapy Resident, she was a Registered Massage Therapist from 2006
– 2015, in Ontario and Nova Scotia. She completed the introduction to Neuro-proprioceptive
taping in 2016 and incorporates taping principals into treatment to help patients balance injury
recovery and their active lifestyles. She also holds a Masters of Science in Kinesiology and values
using an evidenced-based approach to help patients achieve their goals.
Amy identifies as a weekend-warrior and enjoys hiking; her favourite local hike is Cape Split. She
loves equestrian sports and used to compete hunter/jumper in Ontario. She was a student
athletic training for the Dalhousie varsity swim team from 2009-2011. Amy enjoys implementing
injury prevention, prehab and rehabilitation programs with individuals and athletes, of all ages.
